Botox injections for facial wrinkles are today, by far, the most popular anti-agin technique used in combating the visible signs of skin aging.

Botox is a pruified protein produced by the Clostidium botulinum bacteria that has been used in ophtalmology at first but has since become an irreplaceble  aesthetic treatment in dermatology. Botox is not a miracle maker, however, but if used alongside with other techniques, such as dermal hyaluronic acid fillers, we can achieve a balansed rejuvenated and wrinkle-free skin.

Area of treatment

Botox injections are primarily used to treat the wrinkles around the eyes and on the forehead. These are the so-called „smiling wrinkles“. Botox therapy is used mostly to treat the wrinkles on the forehad, small wrinkles around the eyes, upper lip wrinkles, those around the chin and nose and neck wrinkles.  We use Vistabel botox product (sometimes dubbed as the baby botox since it’s used for aesthetic purposes).

Application method

Botox is injected into the skin in miniature dosage in order to block the work of those muscles used in facial mimics (basically, those muscles that cause the wrinkles). Botox works only in the areas where injected. Botox injections are almost pain free since miniature needles are used in the process.

Botox rejuvenating effects

Botox injections effects are visible in a few days after the treatment but the real results can be seen a month after the application. The duraction of botox is, of course, individual but we can safely say that botox injections generally last for up to six months.

Recovery times

Botox treatments are fast and leave almost no side-effects. The patient can return to her/his regular work and life routine immediately after the treatment. Patients can notice redness or a few swellings in the injected area but they usually pass in a day or two. Women can use their make-up to cover up the application areas.
